Steps
Great news -- I'm taking a holiday!
Bad news -- it's next week! (gah! so much to do before then)
The really sad part is that it's the first real holiday I've taken since my June 2002 trip, coincidentally also to Melbourne. Why Melbourne? Because Melbourne's cool, and because I want to move there and it's fun to torture myself.
I'm going to throw open the 'things to do in Melbourne' list again (but let's not start 24-hour shopping debates again) -- I'll be there for at least one weekend, so tell me what's cool.
Already on the to-do list:
- Finally check out (and take plenty of photos of) Federation Square
- While there drop in on the NGV, ACMI and any other acronyms nearby
- I'll be in the audience of The Panel one week (yay!)
- Revisit the war memorial
- Visit the Crumpler shop again
- Catch up with a bunch of folks who've moved to/still live in Melbourne
- Generally harass Mr Wilmot
- Katie tells me there was an exhibition of chairs that I'll have to go act-all-creepy-around if it's still on

Well, you could get yourself down to Merry Creek for a lovely walk.
Visit Koko Black in the Royal Arcade.
Have coffee on Lygon street, and a meal on Swan street.
But you know most of this already :)

You can go to the Kikki K Concept Store on the ground level of the Melbourne Central Shopping Centre and pick me up some red swedish stationary items. And no, I'm not kidding!!

The challenge with the trams these days is to find one of the old original W Class ones - not many kicking around.
Also must add to the list a Gelati at Trampoline on Brunswick St or 7 Apples on Acland St.
Bratwurst and Donuts at Queen Vic Market (donuts at South Melbourne Market are also very fine - but I'd suggest avoiding the dim sims)
Oh and the scenic railway at luna park assuming that the rickety old bugger is actually running.
