That Music Meme

The other week I got bored one night and rearranged my cds into a kind of colour spectrum. Discovery #1: Most of my cds have either black or white spines. Discovery #2: I clearly have too much time on my hands.

And now, onto that music meme that mik sent me...

Total volume of music files on my computer:
Somewhere around 30GB at home I think. It was a sad day when my collection no longer fit on my iPod.

The last CD I bought was:
I tend to go on CD-buying binges. Most recently:

  1. Ben Folds - Songs for Silverman
  2. Aronas - Culture Tunnels
  3. Thievery Corporation - The Cosmic Game
  4. Miles Davis - Live at Carnegie Hall

Song playing right now:
Beck - Earthquake Weather

Five songs I listen to a lot/mean a lot to me:
Here's some songs iTunes claims I play a lot. I'll get back to you on the meaning a lot bit once I've had a chance to ponder.

  1. Thievery Corporation/Flaming Lips - Chasing the Hate Machines
  2. Fourth Floor Collapse - Red Light
  3. Something for Kate - Big Screen Television
  4. Morcheeba - Blindfold
  5. and I don't have a copy but if I did, it'd be on the list: The Hampdens' live cover of The District Sleeps Alone Tonight

Five Four people to whom I am passing the baton:

  1. Mot, because he's off on another European caper right now
  2. Matt, because he's in the UK
  3. April, for above reason
  4. and naturally, Chris, just because I want to see his answers.

I've done this too. Depending on how often you use your CD's it takes approximately 18 months to get rid of all signs of colour coding. I've also tried aphabetising them but it's not as fun because people don't realise that you've done it :)
